Position: Director of Marketing and Communications

Overview:
Clinton Memorial Hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Marketing and Communications to lead and execute comprehensive marketing and communications strategies. This role is crucial in shaping the hospital’s brand, ensuring clear, consistent messaging across all internal and external platforms, and enhancing community engagement. The Director will collaborate with various hospital departments, oversee marketing projects, and ensure all communications align with Clinton Memorial Hospital’s goals and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership & Brand Oversight
    Lead the development, execution, and measurement of the hospital’s marketing and communications strategies. This includes brand management, content development, and ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and messaging.
  2. Digital & Traditional Marketing Campaigns
    Oversee the hospital’s digital marketing efforts (social media, website, email campaigns) and traditional marketing (advertisements, print collateral). Manage digital platforms and ensure optimized content for patient and community engagement.
  3. Internal & External Communications
    Develop and manage communications with internal stakeholders (employees, physicians) through newsletters, emails, and intranet updates. For external communications, handle media relations, press releases, and advertising efforts, maintaining strong relationships with local media outlets.
  4. Community Engagement & Public Relations
    Lead community outreach initiatives and coordinate sponsorships, events, and media coverage. Represent Clinton Memorial Hospital at community events, both in-person and virtually, fostering positive relationships and visibility.
  5. Crisis Communications & Public Information Officer (PIO)
    Serve as the hospital’s Public Information Officer (PIO), managing crisis communications and acting as the primary spokesperson during emergencies or urgent situations, in partnership with ScionHealth Communications.
  6. Marketing Analytics & Reporting
    Track and analyze the performance of marketing initiatives through monthly reporting. Provide detailed insights into key performance metrics, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet hospital goals.
  7. Budget Management & Resource Allocation
    Manage the department’s annual budget, track marketing expenditures, and provide quarterly reports. Oversee resource allocation to ensure effective use of funds in marketing activities.
  8. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnerships
    Collaborate closely with hospital leadership, including the CEO, to ensure alignment of marketing and communications strategies with organizational priorities. Partner with the ScionHealth Marketing team on complex initiatives and campaigns.
  9. Content Creation & Editing
    Produce and edit content for hospital publications, websites, social media, and advertising, ensuring high-quality, consistent messaging that aligns with the hospital’s brand identity and mission.
  10. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
    Proactively identify new opportunities for integrating communications and marketing strategies with hospital initiatives. Stay updated on trends and emerging technologies to enhance the hospital’s marketing efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Leadership & Strategic Thinking: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and make decisions that align with hospital objectives.
    • Digital Marketing Expertise: Proficiency in managing digital platforms, including social media, websites, and email campaigns.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
    • Project Management: Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Crisis Management: Experience in crisis communication and media relations.
    • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with content management systems, marketing automation tools, and analytics platforms.
