Position Summary

The Director of Marketing leads the development and execution of marketing strategies at Fred Hutch to support organizational goals such as clinical growth, philanthropy, and enhancing the center’s national reputation. Reporting to the AVP for Marketing, this role oversees a team responsible for research, strategy, execution, and evaluation of marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment across all initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Research, Analysis, and Insights (15%)
  • Identify market trends, gaps, and consumer behaviors through data analysis and market research.
  • Oversee integration of data from various sources to inform strategies and improve performance.
  • Provide actionable insights through detailed research summaries.
Strategy and Planning (30%)
  • Collaborate with strategic partners to establish annual marketing priorities.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring alignment with goals.
  • Deliver evidence-based, actionable marketing plans and secure stakeholder buy-in.
Execution (20%)
  • Implement improvements to project and campaign management processes.
  • Align marketing initiatives with brand standards and departmental goals.
  • Monitor and support execution of marketing campaigns across teams.
Evaluation and Reporting (10%)
  • Define and monitor marketing KPIs to measure success.
  • Lead the reporting of outcomes, budget performance, and campaign insights.
  • Present data-driven recommendations to enhance strategies and outcomes.
Team and Vendor Management (20%)
  • Mentor marketing team members and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Evaluate the need for external vendor support and ensure effective partnerships.
Additional Duties (5%)
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in marketing leadership roles.
  • 3+ years of management experience leading diverse teams.
  • Proven expertise in marketing strategy, planning, analytics, and execution.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in business, public health, or related field.
  • Experience in healthcare or scientific research organizations, with oncology focus preferred.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills with tools like Asana.
  • Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and data analytics skills.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $130,728–$206,585 (based on qualifications and experience).
  • Eligible for relocation assistance and potential sign-on bonus.
